Brief History:
Elias Olvera is a native of Austin, TX. The son of the late local trio guitar player,
Elias Olvera Sr. ("Mr. Eli"), Eli got his start in mariachi at the program at Travis HS.
After playing with the famous family group, Mariachi Guadalupanos, Eli played in
San Antonio before joining Mariachi Relampago. Eli has been featured in various
recordings of movie soundtracks, including, Once Upon a Time in Mexico
(September 2003 Release). Eli not only plays the guitarron and vihuela, but he also
plays the harp and holds the title "Austin's 1st Mariachi Harpist." Eli currently works
for the I.R.S.
